Welcome to my Site!

»» 07/01/09   Well, progress is being made on my list of stuff do on my site. I got the automobile pop up working and any car that had more than a few photos now has a link. I also added bookmark links to the site; if you notice at the top of this box there are some icons ... :) So now you can add to your favorites, print, email, put to Facebook, etc. Now my next project is work on my next background and blog for Mioduszewski dot com!!!

»» 05/09/09   Wow ... has it really been eight months since I added to this home page????? Let's see ... what have I not posted here? There was Thanksgiving at the Sinhas' in Tampa with Larry; there was Christmas and New Years; I went to Las Vegas to participate in my first national bowling tournament. The tournament ended up being a learning experience ... I needed to practice more. Since then, I have actually starting substituting on another league; in the past several weeks I have been averaging around 195. And after another trip to Kegel Training Center this July, I see a season-long 200 average possible.
Why haven't I been posting my photos here? Mainly, Facebook has a much quicker process, as opposed to resizing, saving, and then uploading. It also gave the option of having captions and tagging. Well, I am one step closer to having that myself! Of the few projects that I have been (slowly) working on, one being a stepping stone to that I finally working. I did get my cookie project working a few weeks ago (with some advice from Larry Kagan) ... but I haven't "launched" it yet because I want to create a different background. If you wish to see it work, there are some links on a test page that will change the color of the text sitewide.
Maybe I will post here more regularly from now on. Who knows?

»» 09/22/08   As I was going through my memory as to what I have still on my digital camera, I remembered that I wanted to re-build the Photo Album section of my website. Not necessarily something that you would notice visually, but where I would only have to upload the original photos into a folder and one page with a small script on it. Everything else would be dynamic (thumbnails, enlargement window, maybe even comments). I found a tutorial to get it started, it's just a matter of getting it done. Besides, there are only images from a brief weekend in Orlando and even less from a Labor Day bbq at Juan Ribero's house.

»» 06/25/08    This past weekend I went on a little trip with the AMF Pines Youth Bowling League to the annual state tournament held at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando. We stayed at the Clarion Resort and Water Park in Kissimmee. The event had been held at the same place last year (which I heard was a first) so we got to stay at the same hotel as well. But this year it was more of a real water park since last year the only thing finished was one pool. We all had fun, the kids did well, and next year I get to plan it all for when we go to Port St Lucie. The hotel, auto show, and Sunday photos are seen here.

»» 05/07/08    It never fails, when it rains - it pours. Two weeks ago I finally purchased a second digital camera; I wanted something smaller than the Olympus which I have had for years. I plan to keep it, if only for its large 8X optical zoom. But that is the reason I got this new Kodak M863: smaller optical zoom (3X) allows for a pocketsize camera. And low-and-behold the following weekend I had two different parties to attend to: one for Misty's graduation reception at her mother's house, and then Juan's house-warming party. And even though I got a free 1 GB memory card, I only took about a dozens photos total.

»» 04/20/2008    Well, it's been 10 days since I turned 31, and to tell the truth, it is no different than 30. The one that has changed is that my friends list has gotten a bit longer. That is evident by how many people showed up to my dinner on my birthday. Also, as you may have noticed when you first brought up this page, is the background is dramatically different; this is a part of my effort to streamline the site, and also tweak the look at the same time. I still want to make the palm tree look more like a palm tree, and the sand, water, and sky as well. Just need to dedicate the time to it.

»» 03/23/08    Just got back last night from a small field trip to Kegel Training & Tournament Center in Lake Wales, FL. About a dozen of us from the Youth Bowling League at AMF Pembroke Pines where I coach traveled up there Friday a day and a half training session with the instructors there. Each lane has sensors at five points down the lane that measure ball speed, rotation, and position, so after each ball thrown you see numerically what the ball did along with a line chart; and then after ten balls you can get a printout showing how consistant (or in-) you are. Saturday focused on one-on-one sessions with an instructor which utilized video cameras. Unbelievable learning experience, not for the dozen of us there (coaches and kids) but also changed my mythodology and approach to bowling and coaching. For years, everyone was told "Keep your body upright and shoulders square to the target." Gone is that thinking. If I can get a clip from the DVD that was to us with my individual training session, I will post it somewhere. Probably right next to the David Hasselhoff "Hooked on a Feeling" video I got from youtube.

»» 02/24/08    Well, after about 5 years, I finally changed host servers. Why pay about $5 per month for 200MB of space, when you can get over 600GB for just more than $9 per month? That is why this site is now hosted by HostGator.com, and I hope good things with them.

»» 02/02/08    Well, I am sort of keeping with the updates on this homepage of every two months. If I had a smaller, more compact camera, there would be pictures from our company Christmas party, Christmas Eve party at the Sinha's, or maybe even New Years at a neighbors. I started a blog on Vox and am even setting up a Facebook account. Why? I have no blipping idea. Seems like a good idea to get myself out there, if not just for web designing and experimental work, maybe even get a date out of it. It's not like anything else works for me.

»» 11/07/2007    As I type this, I realize that I seem to update this homepage once every two months. Last month I finally was able to obtain a majority of the photographs from when I and Daniel Shields (a co-worker) went to a Shop.org conference in Las Vegas. We had a pretty good time, learned a few good tips, and made a few more good contacts. Photos can be seen here. I also finally got tired with Windows and obtained a refurbished MacBook, which I am using now. Funnily enough, with Larry's help, we got VMware installed so that I could run Windows and the Adobe Master Suite (Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, etc), so I am still using Windows, just within a more stable operating system.
I also just launched a website that I did for another co-worker: InsureMyDormRoom.com was quite a success from my point of view.

»» 09/03/2007    Happy Labor Day!! I also, finally after months of working on and off with this, finally got the mp3 player working! Now that it is working, I have to figure where to put it! ;) But getting this to work, means other projects I am brewing that can utilize Flash and XML will be closer to reality. Check out the Hodgepodge page and make sure your speakers are on!

»» 07/04/2007    Even though today is Independence Day, a large group of co-workers stopped by the bosses' house yesterday for some fun, sun, and sweating. Paul Holstein even had a fitness trainer stop by to give an aquatic workout. Makes sense to sweat in pool. It was a nice, relaxing way to start the holiday. A camera was brought along, and I got a hold of the pictures here! Hope everyone celebrated the holiday safely and saw (or made) some great fireworks.

»» 06/04/2007    It took a bit longer than I thought to resize the 80(!!!) photos from my Memorial Weekend trip to Los Angeles for the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars, but I finally finished them, and they can be viewed here. Seeing as how it took a few days off and on to do, I am now wondering if redoing the album in php is possible; that way all I have to do is upload the originals, wave my Olivander Certified Wand, and be done with the page. I can't speak for Nik, Harmony, or baby Yoda, but the weekend was awesome ... who knew Jedi's could be so attractive??

»» 05/12/2007    Just wanted to give some props to Larry Kagan while I am listening to a greatest hits album of the Steve Miller Band I just got from iTunes. Earlier this week I asked him for assistance about my site, and with one line of code added to a server file, and WHAM!!! If you look at the top of the page, there is today's date, generated dynamically. I can now have things done with php ... which may not be much now, but as I learn and experiment, it will certainly make this place interesting and fun. Thanks again, Larry!!

»» 04/14/2007    Got back from Hillsboro earlier this week and had a very great time there ... the photos from the trip to the Columbia River Gorge are up. See them here. You may notice that the photos open up in a new style window ... well I finally got to re-writing the function that creates the pop-up. Let me know if you have any trouble with it working.
